Jim Mahon is a senior member of Lawler Mahon & Rooney and has accrued more than 30 years as a civil and criminal litigator in State and Federal courts. His civil litigation practice comprises primarily commercial litigation relating to banking, tax, ERISA benefits and contributions, and securities matters. He has represented clients with respect to

He serves as a mediator to the commercial part of New York State Supreme Court, New York County. Mahon’s practice also includes

He has represented clients before various State and Federal agencies, including the SEC, NASD, EEOC and the NLRB, as well as the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State Division of Taxation & Finance.

Mahon received his B. A. in History from the College of the Holy Cross in 1969, after which he served in the United States Peace Corps in Panama. He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1975 and served as a member of its Law Review. Mahon is admitted to practice before the New York State Courts, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Second and Third Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the District of Vermont, the United States Tax Court and the United States Court of Claims.

Mahon is fluent in Spanish, and is a devoted student and admirer of Hispanic culture, Irish history and American literature.
