Laura Hill is an independent attorney at Lawler Mahon & Rooney and specializes in

Hill has represented borrowers in commercial and residential real estate sales and acquisition. She also has served as counsel for institutional lenders in

In addition, she has represented private equity investors in both proprietary and multi-investor funds.

Hill also practices Equine Law in the Northeast, including—but not limited to—horse ownership disputes, public auctions, trainer and farrier liens, personal property/ chattel transfers in bankruptcy, board/training debt collection, USEF filings, and ownership transfers of record.

Prior to joining Lawler, Mahon & Rooney, Hill was an associate at Emmet, Marvin & Martin, LLP in New York City.

Hill received her B.A. in English from Marymount Manhattan College in 1995, her Ph.D. in English from Stonybrook University, SUNY, in 2000, and her J.D. from Albany Law School, Union University, in 2004 and served as Note & Comment Editor of its Law Review. She is admitted to practice in New York State.

Hill is fluent in Italian, and has dual citizenship in the United States and Italy (with a European Community Passport). She is an active member of The Chapin School alumnae community (class of 1991) and is a Trustee on the US Board of Shakespeare's Globe Centre (London, UK).
